دانشگاه یو کی ام در سال 1970 تأسیس گردیده و درواقع دانشگاه ملی کشور مالزی است.

این دانشگاه بالغ بر 5105 دانشجودرمقطع فوق لیسانس و دکتری  ,   1368دانشجو( International   ) خارجی از 35 کشور جهان ,دارای 11دانشکده با وسعت 1100 هکتار واقع درمنطقه Kajang  در فاصله 25 کیلومتری ازمرکزشهر کوالالامپور و در فاصله زمانی 25 دقیقه ای با ترن (مترو)  می باشد.

اين دانشگاه از دانشگاههاي مورد تاييد وزارت علوم ايران بوده ويكي از معتبرترين دانشگاههاي مالزي در كليه رشته ها در مقاطع فوق ليسانس و دكترا به شمار مي رود.

 ساختار تحصیلی دانشگاه :

در دانشگاه یو کی ام تمامی رشته های موجود به 3 صورت در مقطع کارشناسی ارشد و دکتری ارائه می شود. دوره تحصیل کارشناسی ارشد حدود 1.5 تا 2 سال و دوره دکتری 3- 4 سال بسته به نوع رشته متفاوت است.

1- نوع تحصیل فقط گذراندن  پایان نامه (By Research)

2- نوع تحصیل شامل واحد های درسی و انجام پژوهش به صورت همزمان ( Course work and Thesis)

3- نوع تحصیل فقط گذراندن واحد های درسی(Course work )
